About Himawari Yama |
|
Himawari Yama is a Jikishin-kai study-group located in the Reno area of Nevada, dedicated to the study, preservation and the infinite search for perfection of seito muso jikiden Eishin-ryu Iaijutsu heiho, a koryu bujutsu with over a 450 year lineage that emphasizes cutting with the katana from the draw. About Our Name To the northwest of the city of Reno is Peavine Mountain. The Northern Paiute Indians call it Sunflower Mountain. The Paiutes revere it as a spiritual place and some still collect plants from there for personal and ceremonial uses. We honor our Paiute friends with the Japanese name Himawari Yama-Sunflower Mountain. |
